Earthly Iced Chai with Pistachio Cold Foam

in honor of earth day and unplugging we bring you this layered, nutty + nostalgic team favorite :-)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted lightly salted pistachios

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • .5 tsp almond extract

  • 1 tbsp soul chai of choice

  • milk of choice

  • matcha for color

it’s easy!


- start by making your pistachio syrup: Combine sugar, water, and pistachios in a small pan. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved, then lower the heat to a simmer


- Let simmer for about 10 minutes, adding the almond extract in the last 2 minutes of simmering to gently incorporate


- Remove from heat and let the syrup rest for 15 minutes to infuse


- Strain through a fine mesh strainer and cheesecloth (refrigerated it should last you 2 weeks!)


- for your latte: prep your favorite with glass with ice 3/4 of the way full

- swirl 1tbsp Soul Chai with a long dash/3oz of boiling water then pour over ice


- Add a splash of your milk of choice to the iced chai to create a chai latte base


- for your cold foam topping: Add 1.5oz of pistachio syrup to 3oz cold creamer/creamy milk of choice and froth with a pinch of matcha (we love mizuba) for some color


-Top your chai latte with your beautiful pistachio sweetened cold foam and enjoy 〰️
