Carrot Cake Chai latte

It's carrot cake season❣️🍰 And if you're Desi, Gajar Halwa season (a rich, Indian carrot dessert made by cooking down grated carrot w/ evaporated milk, nuts, raisins, sugar, cardamom) ✨️

For a rich carrot cake latte with depth, we decided on a quick 10 min. halwa thinned slightly into a butter that is DELICIOUS, incorporates into your lattes easily, and does both desserts justice! 🐰🥕

ingredients

  • 2 Medium/1 Cup Peeled Carrots 

  • 2 tbsp Ghee/Coconut Oil

  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

  • 2 Tbsp Golden Raisins

  • 3 Green Cardamom Pods

  • 1 Cup Evaporated/regular Milk

  • 1 tsp masala soul chai

  • 1/4 tsp Salt 

it’s easy!

  • Blend or grate your carrots then simmer in hot ghee/oil over medium with cardamom pods for several minutes 

  • Stir in sugar, raisins and salt, then add milk

  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 min. You'll know it's ready when your home smells like freshly baked carrot cake :-) 

  • Blend into a "butter" and store refrigerated for up to a week. 

  • Add a heaping tbsp of your carrot butter into your chai latte or steam it inside of your milk and add a “shot of soul chai"
