Soulful Butter Pecan Biscuit Bars

Whether for Veganuary or a resolution to make healthy snacks at home, these chewy, dunkable, salty-sweet bars are the perfect treat and SO easy to prepare!

ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted butter

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 4 tbsp milk

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • 3/4 cup rolled oats

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/2 tbsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp Masala Soul Chai 

  • 3/4 cup butterscotch chips/chopped chocolate 

  • 1/2 cup pecans

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tsp butter/butterscotch extract

  • pinch of flaky salt 

it’s easy!

  • Toast pecans over medium heat until heated through/lightly browned, add maple syrup, butterscotch extract + flaky salt. set aside to cool~ 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F

  • Whisk melted butter and sugars until creamy, then add vanilla and milk

  • Fold in dry ingredients (adding the chopped chocolate and chopped pecans last)

  • Spread in a greased or lined 8" square pan, flatten evenly with spatula and let sit for 25 min. 

  • Bake for 20-25 min, top with flaky salt and serve hot or cool with an scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
