Soul Chai Apple Crisp
This crunchy, nostalgic spiced crisp makes for the perfectly textured, autumnal treat! serve w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream for oooh’s and ahh’s~
ingredients
FOr the topping:
5 juicy apples, peeled + sliced
2.5 Tbsp butter/coconut oil
2 tbsp original masala soul chai
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
FOr the filling:
1 cup quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tbsp original masala soul chai
1 stick cubed, cold butter/9 tbsp coconut oil
it’s easy!
Preheat the oven to 350°F
for the apple filling: In an 8-inch cast-iron skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Add your apple slices, chai, brown sugar + a pinch o’ salt and cook for 7-10 minutes until the apples have softened
for your topping: In a bowl, toss the oats with the flour, soul chai, brown sugar + salt
grate in the cold butter and mix until the texture is crumbly. Sprinkle over your juicy apple mixture & bake for about an hour, until the top is a nice golden brown.
Let cool & serve with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream :-)
